Authorities identify woman killed in car accident

Early morning Tuesday, police responded to a vehicle collision on Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive. The woman was driving GMC Sierra and collided with a pole. Now, we know the name of the now deceased driver; 23-year-old Kylie Hoogendorn. Two juveniles were also victims in the accident and are currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, which occurred at 12:02 AM, a GoFundMe was set up by Hoodendorn’s cousin, Annamarie Adams. The fundraiser labels this as a “heartbreaking time” and promise the money raised will be used for “funeral expenses, food, travel and other unexpected costs.” They are also up for Alaska Airlines Mileage or Bering Air Points to help family travel to Koyuk.

Speaking to Alaska News Source, Adams goes into details about Hoodendorn’s “caring heart” and how she’s “always happy.” She was also a “devoted mother who instilled strength, love, and kindness” who “deeply loved her two children.”
